On Doomers

If something walks like a duck, is shaped like a duck and sounds like a duck, it doesn't mean it is a duck

For a while, I have been planning to write about doomers in the Russian media sphere. I will not call out the names here, but some of the Telegram channels I will be talking about further are quite popular with the English speaking audience, too. Unfortunately.

There is a saying: “There are a lot of people who know how to run the state correctly, unfortunately, they all are employed as hairdressers and taxi drivers.” and another one: “Before social media was invented, only people close to you knew, that you are a fool”.

Unfortunately, some fools are useful fools of the West. Some – knowingly, some – unknowingly.

Roughly speaking, according to internal classification, I can be referred to as “Okhranota” (State-protectors) – pro law, pro Putin. People like me take information from official sources, we avoid emotional thinking and have faith in the country. Criticism of the MoD, as well as advice as to what the General Staff should to do is not given, as is it strongly believed that people in charge have much more information and much more experience.

Another group - they are as if pro-Russia, but quite demanding. They consider themselves smarter and freer than the rest. There are sub-divisions in this group as well, and members can be pretty hostile to each other. Very emotional.

One more group – everything that the MoD does is wrong and bad. Only the “simple fighter from the frontline” knows the truth. "Please donate ASAP, we have invented another FPV in the garage, and it is 100500% better than Orlan, but MoD doesn’t want to accept it. All generals are fools, let’s fight according to NATO standards, “weapons of the white gods” are the best."

All of the groups are considered to be patriotic and pro-Kremlin in the West. So, when another “patriotic” blogger says that Ukrainians are storming Kursk NPP, their “Leopards” are already in suburbs of Belgorod, and MoD is to blame for it – remember, these guys are patriots (according to them and to the West too). Such a shitshow is fun to watch for those, who are 2000 km away to the West from the spot, but not for citizens of Belgorod or Kursk.

One more thing – comments in Russian channels are filled with trolls. One of them – see ther picture below. The guy was claiming he was in Shebekino, but he even gave away his location [results of where it actually was is unknown, but the real location is 1941 km from the spot, so, most likely he is in Poland]. The guy was very emotional, and he even said that he would send his passport. In one of my previous jobs, I had to deal with the documents, so I know that faking a passport is very easy. Then, I offered a video call. After I asked if he will be dressed as Sberbank Security officer of FSB General, he disappeared. Must have been inexperienced.

So, not everyone who writes in Russian (or claims to have Russian resources) are patriots.

Moreover, I have already provided a screenshot of a post from April 7, 2023 about Ukraine [read the West], assigning 50 million USD to destabilize Russia using bloggers. Knowing the amount of frauds that happen in Russia every day, real assignation for these purposes might be even more significant. This conflict is about PR, and as Budanov (listed as terrorist) mentioned recently –the main goal of the Russian President is internal stability in Russia. This means the Ukraine will do everything to undermine this stability.

I also got a reference to one blogger, who graduated from Lviv Higher Military-Political School. Ok, it was back in USSR times, but the thing is, that Ukraine, especially its Western part, has never gotten rid of Banderites completely. I personally knew a guy, one of his grandads was from SMERSH, another – former Banderite. He was a perfect Nazi in a while. I have no idea where that person is now, but after assassination of Oles Buzina back in 2015, we stopped talking.

So, nothing leaves without a trace.

Moreover, Russia, despite many who might think differently, has a lot of people with various opinions. People might be pro-USSR and against it, but they have similar views of the SMO at the same time. Some want to prohibit everything (including YouTube, like M. Simonyan proposed), but the same “Okhranota” is against banning of social networks in general and YouTube in particular – suddenly political shows are among the less viewed videos there, as people usually watch lectures instead.

In general, Russia is much more complicated than simple black and white. Opinions are as many as there are people, we say. I know, the West likes to accuse Russians of not being free thinkers – but that’s the funniest thing I ever heard.

And the final thing – a libtard coup is impossible in Russia – it will not work. But served under the “patriotic” sauce?
